Behind the Video: What Mocks a Good Movie
Have you ever watched a DVD and when it was over, popped in that extra disk that contained "Special Features" such as an interview with the director? Consider this "Behind the Video" segment that extra disk and revel in this personal interview with the creator of the video "What Mocks a Good Movie".
Click here to watch "What Mocks a Good Movie" Writer/Director/Producer: Scott Spencer 1) Why did you make this video? "It was my entry to the CampusMovieFest, a great competition that gives college students a camera, an Apple laptop, and one week's time to make a five minute movie from start to finish. The film ended up winning 2005's Atlanta regional competition, defeating hundreds of other teams." 2) Who should watch it?
"The film is a solid comedy on its own, but anyone that's suffered through watching a bad student film will really appreciate the parodies found in 'What Mocks a Good Movie.' LEGO fanatics, stop-motion animation fans, and the cult followers of Adult Swim's 'Robot Chicken' will enjoy the project too." "Perhaps all three someday? The hardest part about working in film or television is getting your foot in the door. I think that writing/directing this movie and investing 52 hours over one week to film it should prove I've got talent and drive. Now I just need the right opportunity." New Releases Monday

It's that easy! Not to mention fun too... Behind the Video: The World Championship of Illegal Pencil Fighting
Have you ever watched a DVD and when it was over, popped in that extra disk that contained "Special Features" such as an interview with the director? Consider this "Behind the Video" segment that extra disk and revel in this personal interview with the creator of the video "The World Championship of Illegal Pencil Fighting".
The World Championship of Illegal Pencil Fighting
Writer/Director: David Meyer 1) Why did you make this video? "A friend called and asked me to do a short video for an 'open mic night' where local musicians, artists, etc. would be performing. The video would be shown between acts as a little humorous intermission. After my friend called me, I laid down on the couch to take a nap. When I woke up, I started thinking about petty crimes, the criminal underground, and how pencil fighting was usually forbidden at elementary school (you'd have to conceal it behind the seats on the school bus). I thought about how vicious pencil fighting is in the real world, and I felt like it was my duty to make people aware of it, for both safety and entertainment purposes." 2) Who should watch it?
"People should watch it. Also pencils, so that they'll learn an important lesson." "Awareness of this issue and how outlawing it only makes it more prevalent. The elementary school principals just don't get it. Pencil fighting has such potential to be exploited by capitalism. It's an unrealized jackpot that The Man hasn't tapped into. Wait, actually, I don't want The Man to tap into it.......nevermind, I hope this video remains secret!" Highlight: Copy Shop

This film is so well crafted on every level: Virgil Widrich and his team painstakingly shot the film, printed out and re-photographed 18,000 frames to create the distinctive, scratchy aesthetic of the film. The acting is impressive, the sound design award-winning - all in all a truly superb short that pushes the animation medium to its absurdist outer limits. Consider this "Behind the Video" segment that extra disk and revel in this personal interview with the creator of the video "Dude! There's a Latte on Your Roof".
Dude! There's a Latte on Your Roof Director/Producer - David Sniderman 1) Why did you make this video? A friend of mine runs a little film festival here in Seattle. I decided to create an entry for it, so my friend Brian and I worked on a script and my friend Tracy and I filmed it. Well, we started the day ready to film everything as scripted, but passersby were so absorbed by our prop, we had more fun filming them reacting to it -- and so that became the movie. You'll just have to watch it to see. 2) Who should watch it?
Anyone who has ever done something stupid and absent-minded. A smile to the viewer's face is all I'm after (and maybe an email if you liked it). Hmm. A feature-length version of this is begging to be made (kidding). You'll just have to wait and see... Google Picks
