After The Elections - Then What?

With the 2006 U.S. elections just finished, the important issues facing Americans -- education, health care, national security, the economy and others -- demand serious attention from Republicans and Democrats alike, no matter which side winds up controlling Congress.

The New America Foundation is a Washington DC-based, non-partisan think tank that regularly brings together policy experts from across the political spectrum to tackle vital domestic and global issues. More than 170 of these New America events are now on Google Video, with new videos being added each week.

Gov. Tim Kaine (D-VA) presented a half-hour speech to over a hundred guests at the New America Foundation on Tuesday, July 25, 2006. Kaine described his views on the importance of early childhood education, which studies show can reduce the number of unprepared students entering kindergarten each year and reduce the number of elementary school children who fail to advance to the next grade at the end of the school year.
